10 steps to follow if you are involved in a construction or industrial accident
1. REMAIN CALM – Stay calm at the accident scene. Make sure the accident scene is safe and that all people are out of the way from the affected area.
2. SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION – If there are any injuries, call an ambulance immediately. Apply direct pressure to any bleeding and do not move any person if it could aggravate the injury. Keep any injured person calm until medical personnel are on scene.
3.PROTECT THE ACCIDENT SCENE – Always keep in mind that any construction or industrial accident scene can cause a potentially dangerous situation for other accidents. Place cones or flares if you have them to barricade the scene. If the incident occurs on a roadway, recruit any motorists who have stopped to divert traffic away from the scene.
